CLL Language Centres, a non-profit language school created by UCLouvain (the Catholic University of Louvain-la-Neuve) 30 years ago, organises language training for companies, public institutions, adults, children and teenagers. CLL teaches 27 languages in its 2 CLL centres and in companies, and collaborates with over 500 qualified language trainers.

A PEDAGOGICAL QUALITY ADVISOR

for the Grand Public department

(Full-time permanent contract; position based principally in Louvain-la-Neuve with trips to Brussels; remote working: up to 2 days per week; evening work on specific occasions when new sessions start )

Your missions

Your principal mission is to ensure that adult courses in all languages and all centres are delivered with the utmost quality. Your tasks include:

  • Participating in the recruitment process.
  • Giving group and individual onboarding sessions.
  • Training and coaching the trainers on all new courses and levels (especially in the field of new technologies): briefings, class visits, feedback sessions, follow-up;
  • Overviewing the planning for each session.
  • Conducting class visits and coaching teachers on the field.
  • Training teachers in all aspects, especially in the domain of new technologies.
  • Creating and/or participating in the creation of online and offline pedagogical materials (syllabi, work sheets, flashcards, etc.);
  • Managing the trainer’s intranet platform.
  • Conducting pedagogical quality assurance actions to ensure that all materials and course contents are compliant with the CLL Standards and learner’s expectations;
  • Communicating with trainers - you ensure daily support on both content related and technical matters;
  • Keeping abreast of the latest teaching practices.
  • Participating in all Quality Advisor meetings.
  • Researching the market, putting forward new ideas, introducing pilot schemes.
  • Actively collecting and sharing information with trainers and colleagues.
  • Staying abreast of new developments in pedagogy and exchanging ideas with trainers and colleagues.

Your profile

  • You have a degree in the field of languages and/or education (additional training in digital education is a plus)
  • You have a knowledge of English and French corresponding to level C1. A knowledge of Dutch (minimum B2 level) would also be useful.
  • You have at least 5 years professional experience teaching a foreign language.
  • You have knowledge in face-to-face and online language teaching.
  • You have good information and communication technology (ICT) skills.
  • You are more than familiar with digital tools and new technologies, and know how they can be used in the classroom.
  • You have very good knowledge of multimedia language teaching and resources.
  • You are organised and able to manage all pedagogical and administrative tasks within the framework given.
  • You are autonomous, enjoy challenges and have excellent people skills.
  • Flexible and open to new ideas, you are able to assist in strategic planning and assure the operational implementation of all projects.
  • You demonstrate a constant interest in new language teaching methods.
  • You are creative, dynamic and eager to learn and love working in a team where you have specific responsibilities.
  • You are results-oriented and put everything in place to achieve your goals.
  • You have a driver's license B and are willing to travel regularly within Belgium.
